The Securitization of Cultural Heritage and Museums

The project focuses on how the securitization of cultural heritage has drawn museums into security related work areas normally falling under defense and security, and how this development creates new roles and challenges for museums.

The project examines among other things the implication of this ‘turn to security’ for museums’ social, political and institutional identity and its implications to museums' legitimacy and the continued utilization of resources and opportunities.
