Denmark and the 1954-Convention

The project, hosted at the Danish Institute for International Studies DIIS and funded by the Danish Ministry of Defence, undertook at systematic assessment of the Danish implementation of the 1954 Hague Convention for the Protection of Cultural Property in the Event of Armed Conflict, which Denmark ratified in 2003.

The findings of the project led the Danish Government to restart work on implementing the 1954-Convention including the cross-ministerial working group tasked with working towards a ratification of the Second Protocol to the 1954-Convention. The Danish Government decided the 23. June 2017 to ratify the Second Protocol .
